My Journey with Food

Welcome. I am so glad you are here and taking a step into my kitchen and my story.

My name is Morgan, and food has always shaped the way I move through the world. I began with dreams rooted in baking and pastry, inspired by butter, flour, and chocolate. When a sudden wheat and soy allergy changed everything, my path shifted. I studied Food Science, driven by curiosity and determination, and focused on gluten free food long before it was widely understood or embraced. As time went on, more allergies appeared, and each one asked me to adapt again.

What began as a love of food became a personal challenge. I went from cooking with ease to being the person others felt nervous feeding. Instead of stepping away from the table, I leaned in. I started cooking for myself with care and creativity, building meals I genuinely craved and looked forward to eating. That work led me into a career as a Food Scientist, where I deepened my understanding of how ingredients behave and how flavor is built from the ground up.

Food Allergies and Me grew from that experience. This space reflects how I cook for myself and my family every day. The recipes here are seasonal, vibrant, and made fully from scratch whenever possible. They are developed to be free from the ingredients I am allergic to, including peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, soy, wheat, barley, rye, oats, buckwheat, legumes, mustard seed, lobster, tomato, potato, sweet potato, cauliflower, asparagus, pineapple, and melons.

It is a long list. Living with it has taught me clarity, patience, and intention. It is also why I carry an allergen card when I dine out, and why clear communication and thoughtful cooking matter so much to me.

This site is a reflection of my belief that cooking is an act of care. It is about understanding ingredients, respecting limitations, and still creating food that feels exciting and generous. My background in Food Science guides my process, helping me build dishes that are safe, deeply flavorful, and satisfying without compromise.

You will find recipes here for everyday cooking and special moments alike. Warm breakfasts, comforting soups, bold mains, colorful salads, playful desserts, and drinks meant to be shared. Each one is developed from real cravings and real meals, tested in my own kitchen, and meant to be adaptable to the ingredients that work for you.

I am also working on a cookbook that brings this philosophy together in one place. It is still taking shape, much like this journey itself, and I look forward to sharing more soon.
